Morning USA....I am happy to report that my first Civilian Trauma Medicine Course was a success with all participants. There were seven students and each voiced a much better understanding of how a real life situation might present itself. An extremely graphic PP presentation, with most of the images coming from my time in Iraq, really hit home. The course covered Stab wounds...GSW, Blunt Trauma, Burns and Eenvironmental (heat) related injuries. Treatment options were kept to the basics.....much along the lines of when many of us OLD EMS folks were forced to do wonders with very little in the way of equipment/gear/supplies.
The last segment involved subjecting two pork roasts to several rounds of 9mm hollow points. Nothing better than this to demonstrate the type wounds this ammo will produce.I am hoping to ofter this class again in late June...keep an eye on the web site calendar. for dates and times.
